Weds Brief

Well it's that time of the week again.  time to find out what Tom and Ben are up to.  I think you'll want to join in the party.   They are having a summertime get together.  you're all invited to join in.

Weds Brief May 29

Nature Lovers

“Hey, Tom, did you fill out that paperwork?”  Pete Johnson asked him. He was one of Tom’s fellow firefighters and a close friend.  Working in a firehouse, your co-workers became more than just that; they also became your closest companions.  You relied on them for so much, including your life.

“Yeah, Pete. Hey, are you and Jill coming over for dinner on Saturday?” Tom and Ben liked to invite their friends over every now and then.  They both loved to cook, so their get-togethers gave them an opportunity to try new recipes or drag out old ones.

“Sure, Tom, what time did you want us there?”

“How about around seven?” Tom knew it would give him and Ben time to clean the house and set up the backyard.  They usually got the food together the night before.   If the weather was nice, they’d BBQ out on the deck.

When Tom arrived home, it was still light out.  He found Ben in front, planting flowers.

“Hi hon.” Tom leaned over and kissed Ben on the lips.  He was reaping the benefits of Ben’s green thumb.  “Those flowers look beautiful, what kind are they?” he asked. Tom knew little to nothing about plants.

“Marigolds. I’ve been mixing native plants and annuals in the flower garden,”  Ben explained.   It all went over Tom’s head; he certainly did appreciate all the work Ben did to make their world more beautiful.

“Well, whatever you’re doing, I love it.”  Tom sat down beside Ben on the grass.  Ben had been working on an area in front of the boxwoods that grew in front of their dining room window.

Tom watched Ben finish planting the yellow and bronze colored flowers then Ben got up and took his gardening gloves off and stuck out his hand and helped Tom off the ground.

“Pete and Jill are coming for dinner tomorrow.  Just thought I’d remind you.”

“Great, I’ve been working on a menu. We’re BBQ-ing, right?” Ben asked.

“You bet. I checked on weather.com and it calls for a gorgeous, sunny day.  Won’t be hot either, only in the seventies.”

“Great, I think I’ll take a shower, “ Ben said. Tom followed Ben into the bedroom.

“You want some company?”   Tom was being hopeful. It had been a while since they’d had time to really be together; their work schedules tended to keep them apart.

“You bet I do!”  Ben took his shirt and jeans off and shed his boxers in record time.

Tom mirrored Ben’s actions; it wasn’t long before they were enjoying each other’s bodies under the spray of a hot shower.

“Oh yeah, Tom, yeah. Right there!”

Tom knew all the right buttons to push to get Ben’s motor running.  His cock was hitting his partner’s sweet spot.  Ben’s right hand grabbed Toms’ thigh and squeezed tight.

A few more thrusts and Ben was sent into orbit.

It took a while, but they made it back to Earth.

“So what’s on the menu?”  Tom asked Ben over cups of coffee in the kitchen.  They’d put fresh clothes on and were enjoying leftover chili that Tom had made the night before.

“How about some beef kabobs and marinated chicken and some roasted veggies, too?”

“Mm, sounds yummy. Let’s get the meat ready tonight. I told Pete and Jill to get here by seven tomorrow night.”

“Great.”

The next evening…

“Gosh, everything is so wonderful,”  Jill exclaimed, after enjoying yet another kabob.

They’d served some red wine with dinner and had good conversation, too.

Tom and Ben capped it off by having some strawberry sorbet Ben had made.

They sat on the deck, each couple holding hands and watched the sunset.

Winners of my blog contest

First I'd like to thank all of those who stopped by my blog and read my comments and those who spoke about their own pain.    It's not easy to open up old wounds.   I just hope that one day, soon, we can all live in peace and harmony in a world without the hate.

I was originally going to pick only one winner of my contest,  but this morning, as I was 'scientifically' going about picking a winner (ie putting names on pieces of paper, folding them and putting them into a container, closing my eyes and picking a winner)  I decided to choose 3 people to win.

SO the winners of my contest ARE:    Laurie, Lena Grey AND Kimberly FDR    I have already sent you an e mail.

Thank you all again!

Weds Brief

Well it's that time of the week again.    So far the photo prompts have sparked some ideas.   This week is a tasty treat.  How many of us remember the ring or chimes coming from the ice cream truck.  How we would FLY out the door to run and get some tasty frozen treats?     I remember all too well the Good Humor man.    We do have an ice cream truck that stops by our community,  usually after our community pool opens up.  It is going to open next Sat.

Well Tom and Ben aren't little kids anymore but the BIG kids want some ice cream too.  How many of you would like to line up and get some?

“Hey, Ben? It’s too nice a day to stay inside, let’s go to the park.”

Ben had his head in a book; he still loved to hold a book in his hand, as opposed to an e-reader.  Ben loved going to the family-owned bookstore in town, as well as to the library.

“Huh?  Oh yeah, that sounds like a good idea, honey.”   Ben placed his bookmark— the one Tom gave him for his last birthday.  It had a photo of a waterfall, with a forest around it.   Tom said he wished he could get Ben to a place like that, and Ben told him he’d like to be standing under that waterfall, naked, with Tom’s hands all over his body.  Ben couldn’t keep the smile from breaking out on his face at the memory of what happened next, when Tom took him to the next best thing to that waterfall that they had available—the shower.

“What are you smiling about?”   Tom wondered. He was standing by the fireplace, waiting for Ben to put the book aside so they could leave.

“Oh, uh, nothing.   Let’s go to the park.”

It was nice enough that they didn’t need a jacket, and the park was not far so they walked over.    Tom didn’t think twice about entwining his fingers around Ben’s.  They held hands all the way to the park.

“Heads up!”  A shout-out caused Tom to release Ben’s hand in time to catch an errant Frisbee.

“Hey, throw it!”  the teenager told Tom.  Tom was only too glad to show off his muscles and gave the Frisbee a good throw.  It sailed through the air and was caught several yards away by one of the other teens in the group.

“That was some throw, mister.”  The first teen, the one that’d told Tom to throw it back, commented.

“Well, he has to be strong. He’s a firefighter after all,”  Ben told him. He was proud of Tom and didn’t mind telling people what his man did for a living.

“Wow, really?   My uncle’s a firefighter.  He works in Philadelphia. I’m thinking of being one too.”

“It’s a hard job, but it can be very rewarding.”   Tom knew that it wasn’t always a happy time, when you’re out there trying to save people’s lives ,and sometimes you lost people—sometimes even your fellow firefighters, that hurt the worst.   But when you saw the elation on the family and friends of the people you did save, and knew that you made a difference, it made it all worth it.

“Come on, Tom.” Ben took his hand and practically dragged Tom through down the path to the other side of the park.

“Ben, where are you taking me?”

“Can’t you hear it?”  Ben asked him, incredulously.

“Hear what, I don’t…” Then there it was. The sound was so faint he’d have missed it if Ben hadn’t apparently heard the sound of music, the jingle that could only mean one thing.   He swore Ben must have the ears of a dog; he could hear things better than he could.  He even joked he had the hearing of Radar O’Reilly, the character from one of their favorite TV shows, M*A*S*H

“The ice cream man is here.”  Ben chuckled like a little boy and pulled Tom the rest of the way. They stood in line with the rest of the ‘kids’, waiting their turn to get a frozen treat.

Tom got rocky road on a waffle cone and Ben got himself a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream and a cherry on top.

They walked over to a nearby bench and sat down to enjoy their treats.   “Mmmm, this sure brings back memories.  I remember when me and my sister would beg our parents for money to get some ice cream.”

Tom remembered how he’d go to the ice cream truck after a dip in the town pool. The weather was so hotand you could feel the heat radiating off the truck’s engine. How glad he was when he got his ice cream so he could cool off.

“Brings back memories for me, too, but you know what I’m most glad of?”  Tom said as he brought the cone close to his mouth, so he could lick off the ice cream that was melting along the sides.

“What?”

“The new memories I’m making with you.  I’m so glad you’re in my life and that we’re spending today together.”

Ben stopped eating his sundae and put the spoon into the ice cream and put it down on the bench. He reached up and brought Tom’s face towards his and kissed him.  “I love you. And I count my lucky stars that you’re in my life too.”   There was a moment of silence between them.

“Wanna try my sundae?”  Ben turned back into a kid again.

“Sure, honey.”  Tom opened his mouth and let Ben feed him the tasty treat.

“How about we take in a movie? The new Star Trek movie just came out and it’s playing at the cinema a few blocks from here.”

“Yeah, I’d love that.  I heard it’s very good.”   Tom and Ben were confirmed Trekkers, and they loved the new cast and how well J.J. Abrams had carried the torch that was passed onto him.

They finished their treats and took a stroll towards the theater, hand in hand.

Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia

It's the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia

http://dayagainsthomophobia.org/

Here is the main page of the blog hop

http://hopagainsthomophobia.blogspot.com

If there is one thing I have never understood about human nature it's prejudices and hatred of fellow human beings based on what someone is.  Diversity is the spice of life,  I think it would be a boring world if we all looked alike and thought alike.   I've been lucky to have grown up in New York, a place where you are exposed to so many different cultures and religions and people from all over the world.   I find the same thing living in the DC area.     It's more important about who a person is on the inside and not their religion or color of their skin or who they love or what gender they are.

I'm Jewish and I've had to deal with anti-Semitism and could never figure out why,  but then I don't know if there really is an answer to the whys.

I had the same questions when I was getting bullied in school.   That certainly didn't help my self-esteem.   I still have problems with self-esteem on occasion.  probably the scars that never truly go away no matter how much time has past.

All I can say is it's time to stop the hatred and learn to love one another.

In honor of this blog event I am giving away a copy of one of my books.   I was hoping to have a re-tweaked version of my book "Catch of the Day" ready for this blog but I've had some difficult times over the past few months so it's been hard for me to write much of anything.   I hope to get "Catch of the Day" available once again.  I DO have a wonderful new cover for it, too.

To enter my contest please leave your name and contact info.  I'll be awarding a prize on May 28th.

Thanks
<3

Welcome author Joyee Flynn

I am  honored to have as a guest Joyee Flynn.  Let's make her feel welcome as we learn about her and her book "Virgil"

1-How long have you been writing?
Since I was a kid actually. I used to come home and rewrite how my day went, the fantasy of how I wished things could be. But I’ve been published for over three years.

2- What is your favorite genre to write?
Anything paranormal. If it’s contemporary, it’s too much like reality to hold my interest.

3-What are you working on now?
A new series that’s working name is Shifting Reality. It’s edgier, grittier, and bigger than anything I’ve ever done before as Joyee. Now that I’ve gotten 100 books under my belt, I wanted to really let the engine rip.

4-When you begin a story do you start with character or plot?
Um, neither. I normally just start with a dream. Either it puts me at one scene that I work backwards from or it’s built of a previous book or lots a different things. I’d need more options.

5-Tell us about your latest/upcoming release. What inspired it?
It’s the last of the Marius Brothers, but not the last of the world. Lots of beloved minor characters to come but it was time to mate of Virgil. It was killing me that he was the last one left alone. The war against the demons takes and interesting turn and things really start to speed up from the last leave off point from the previous group of released books!

Blurb:

Virgil has been hiding something… But then again that isn’t anything new to him. He doesn’t fit in with the family that doesn’t even know who he really is. Learning long ago that he wasn’t normal, he strives to just fit in. Fate just doesn’t seem to have it in the cards for him.

Moreo and Foma have been searching for their other mate for centuries. Now that they think they’ve found him, Virgil’s running from them. Panicked that he’s only staying in Greece a few days and confused by his reaction, they decide to take desperate measures. After their plan backfires instead of opening up Virgil to being their mate, can they convince him they were only trying to help? Or will it be the last straw to push Virgil over the edge and leave everything behind to start over somewhere else, saying goodbye to the Mariuses forever?

Excerpt:
“The fae Queen keeps things informal or she doesn’t like to have everyone treat her so differently, but she should be called her majesty as well. Ruling King or Queen get majesty. Anyone else in the ruling royal family gets your highness.”
“Okay, so you and Lorcan get your majesty because you’re Caleb’s mates, but you’re both still Princes because you can’t be Queen since you don’t have boobs,” Patrick surmised. I bounced my head along with that one and then snickered. My brother’s mate had such a way with words.
“I love how Americans know how to turn a phrase,” a deep, loud voice chuckled from behind Caleb. I saw him before his scent hit me and I almost fell over just from how handsome he was. There were too many flowers in the throne room where we met up with Caleb after a meeting of his for me to have caught his scent sooner. But when I did, I froze… Except my fangs. The stranger’s eyes met mine and he saw them come out, schooling his reaction carefully.
“I don’t know if he’s picking on me or not,” Patrick said to his mate, getting the fae’s attention.
“No, not at all,” the man replied gently, shooting me another look quickly.  “I honestly do love it. I appreciate bluntness. And his majesty, Prince Liam, is correct, our Queen smacked one of us once for calling her by that term. She said she was more mother to us all than ruler to be put up on a throne away from here people. We call her the term highness. She couldn’t make us stop so she gave up.”
“This is Foma, one of the new additions to our security,” Caleb said as I stared at the god of a fae man. His scent was confusing me though because it waivered almost as if there were two of them. Then again I was desperately trying to get my fangs to retract so I was slightly distracted. “And this is his mate, Mareo.” Caleb gestured to the other side of him and I locked eyes with the deepest midnight- blue eyes I’d ever seen. And I knew Mareo had seen every second of my reaction.
Did they know they were my mates? Fuck!
Stefan reached for Foma’s hand. “Nice to meet you. We didn’t get a chance to when the fae crossed over.”
“We crossed over a couple of centuries ago in search of our mate,” Foma explained, staring at me again. I felt the blood drain from my face, knowing he’d busted me, and glanced away… And met Mareo’s gaze. Shit! “When we heard that the Queen and the rest of our people crossed over to this plane and some were coming to Greece, we made ourselves known to Caleb and offered our services to help acclimate the fae.”
“Very nice of you,” Patrick said as he shook the man’s hand next. “Damn, you’re just huge in a whole new way, man.”
“So I’ve been told,” Foma drawled and then snickered. “I’ve almost got two feet on you. I’m seven seven.”
“Five eight,” Patrick chuckled. “Just call me shorty.”
“Virgil, are you going to come meet Caleb’s people or stand there?” Stefan asked jokingly but I could hear the slight concern in his tone. “Dude, you okay?”
“Yeah,” I answered, clearing my throat. “Just weird seeing Caleb like this with all the grandeur.” I gestured around, lying through my teeth. “That and the flight.” I shrugged. “Sorry. Just kind of spaced out.”
“Then we should show you to your rooms for some rest,” Mareo said as he moved closer to me. “I didn’t catch your name.”
I swallowed loudly as I stared up at the massive man. Yes, I had to stare up at him. He was maybe an inch shorter than Foma but at least seven and a half feet tall. “Virgil Marius.”
“Nice to meet you, Virgil,” he said in a slightly husky voice. We shook hands and I noticed that Stefan and Patrick were talking to Liam and Lorcan again, everyone else distracted. They wanted to see their new baby before we settled in.
“Same,” I mumbled, trying to get back my hand and not breathe at the same time. If I took in his scent with how attracted I was to him, my fangs would come right back out and I’d be busted.
“Virgil did you say?” Foma asked, suddenly right next to his mate, both of them practically surrounding me but keeping a polite distance… Technically. To everyone else it might have looked as if we were just in a private conversation. “Lovely fangs you have.”
“Thanks, I’m, um, th–thirsty,” I lied. “Tired and thirsty.”
“Hmm.” Foma glanced at his mate and I had a feeling they didn’t believe me. “Then we should check on you during your nap.”
“Maybe keep an extra close eye on you,” Mareo agreed as he let go of my hand only for Foma to take it in his massive one. I stared into his light brown eyes and found myself twenty seconds from swooning. I swear he had gold flecks swirling around in them or something. It was hypnotic and alluring all at once. “Like as you’re lying naked and sated in our arms.”
I felt a thrill of desire go through me and my fangs, the fucking things, popped back out.  I shook my head and pulled my hand back as I got them to retract. “I’m sorry, no thank you. I appreciate the offer but I’m straight.”
Mareo leaned in until his shoulder- length black hair brushed against my ear. “The erection you’re sporting would suggest otherwise. Why do I get the feeling most everything you’ve said is bullshit, Virgil?”
Because you’re smart. But I couldn’t say that. “If you’ll excuse me, I want to meet my nephew.” I cleared my throat and went to step around them.
“Running won’t stop us from pursuing,” Foma warned.

Adult Excerpt:
I leaned my forehead against the cool stone wall as I pushed the heel of my hand into my cock, begging it to behave and calm down. I’d never get to sleep with a hard- on like this. I just couldn’t seem to get a handle on myself. That had to be werewolf blood I drank!
But why just me?
“We could help you with that,” a deep voice said behind me. I didn’t even have to turn around to see who it was.
“I’m fine,” I lied, shaking my head even as I wanted to whimper and beg for them to take me. I went to stand back up to leave when Mareo grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. He pushed me against the wall and kissed me, pushing his larger body against mine. I gasped, shocked at the bold move, and he immediately plunged his tongue into my mouth. Kissing him back, I moaned as two sets of hands moved over my body.
“We see you, Virgil,” Foma whispered in my ear as I kept kissing, Mareo. Their hands guided me away from the wall and then I was moving backwards towards my room. “Let us show you how special you are like you deserve.”
God that sounded so nice. To be appreciated for once and not worry. My mind couldn’t keep up with my body, the werewolf blood racing through me like a drug. There was this little voice though that was screaming to stop this, that there was something that I needed to remember as to why I couldn’t do this.
We got to my room and clothes went flying. I glanced around, wondering how we’d gotten here so fast, panting for air now that Mareo’s lips weren’t plastered to mine. I had enough sense left that to check  that the door was closed before a naked and very gorgeous Foma got on his knees in front of me. Then suddenly the little voice with the warning was dead and I wanted everything they offered. I couldn’t say no even if I wanted to with the blood flowing through me.
“Foma has the best mouth,” Mareo purred in my ear as his slick fingers moved over my crease. “Suck Virgil off, my love.”
“Gladly. I love a big cock in my mouth,” Foma moaned before licking the head of it. I gasped as a drop of my pre-cum fell onto his tongue. Holy fuck was that like the most erotic thing I’d ever seen.
“Please, I hurt,” I whispered, my body shaking with need. “It was werewolf blood I drank. Don’t tease me. It hurts.”
“Do you promise to submit to us all night and be ours?” Mareo asked, holding up a hand to stop Foma when he went to swallow me down.
“Yes, I give myself to you tonight,” I agreed, having just enough sense to clarify how long I was there.
“Good enough for now,” he bitched but waved Foma on. I cried out as he swallowed me down, his light brown eyes staring up at me with lust, groaning at the taste of me. At the same time Mareo pushed a finger in my ass and started stretching me out. “Big cock and tight ass. Yes, you are perfect for us.”
I couldn’t even say anything. My body  one big nerve ending and ball of need to come. Moments later I was tugging on Foma’s hair, freeing his soft curls from the tie, to signal I was coming. He shook his head and kept right on going. I cried out in bliss as I came, my balls almost hurting from the force of it. It seemed to last forever, his mouth never stopping it’s attention on me.
When I came back down, Mareo was pulling four fingers out of my ass and Foma drew off of me and stood. How had I missed him stretching me out like that? I gasped for air as my senses ran wild, my body craving more and everything from them. Next thing I knew I was on the bed, hands and knees, with Mareo’s cock pushing against my hole and Foma’s held up to my mouth. I opened for him, getting a smile as my reward as he ran his fingers through my ear-length hair.
The moment Mareo plunged into me, I bucked my hips, letting him know to get on with it. He listened because the next thing I knew he was plowing into me as I deep throated Foma.
I came first, my body needing just a little help and Mareo’s massive cock rubbing my prostate being just what did the trick. Hell, I wanted to measure Foma’s later when I was in my right mind. Maybe in my haze I was seeing more of it than I thought there was, but I was pretty damn sure it was way over a foot long. I couldn’t even take half of it into me.
Mareo bellowed out my name as he filled my body with his release. The second he was done, he pulled out of me and flopped down to the bed. Foma pushed me off of him and I rolled onto my back, blinking up at him in shock. He moved between my legs, wrapping  them over his hip s before plunging into me. Just like before I distantly felt the mating bond snap into place, not being able to focus on it, but knowing that my life would never be the same.
“We’re going to love you so good and forever, Virgil,” Foma whispered as he leaned over before kissing me stupid. I wrapped my arms around his neck and lifted my hips to meet his. We could worry about whatever else was going on later. Right then I just wanted pleasure. I wanted to let go, deal with my hormones, take the pleasure they offered, and give in to my desires with the two sexiest men I’d ever seen.
