Job Applicant- Weds Brief

It's that time of the week again.    This week I decided to use this photo as my inspiration.
Let's see how this man factors into my story

Job Applicant

One of the things Ben loved about their home was the space they had. It wasn’t a huge house, but the way it was laid out made it work for him and Tom.  Ben was home doing some business in their office.  He looked over at Tom’s empty desk and wondered when his husband was coming home.  He’d stopped worrying about Tom’s dangerous job a while back. It was driving him crazy, so he decided he wouldn’t think about what could happen to his gorgeous firefighter.

Ben was part owner in the real estate office he worked at. His business partner was one Aaron Hector.  He was a great guy. They’d known each other since their college days.  They’d both decided to go into real estate and get some experience before starting their own businesses.

Right now, Ben and Aaron had decided to hire someone new, and Ben was going over job applications and resumes.  One name drew his eye.  There was something familiar about it, so Ben did a Google search.

“Hey,  honey, how was your day?”  Tom came up behind him, bent over and gave him a big kiss on the lips.

“Hey, Tom. I didn’t hear you come in.  Sometimes you’re more quiet than our cat.”

“Lol, yeah, I guess so.  What are you up to?”  Tom looked at the image Ben had on the screen. It was of a very buff guy wearing board shorts and nothing else but a Celtic tattoo on his upper left arm; he was striking a very sexy pose.   “Um, should I be worried?”  Tom said, jokingly.

“What? No, Tom. I was looking at new job applicants and this guy’s name just rang some bells.  I did a search on him and this image popped up.  Apparently he was a model and decided to turn to real estate. According to the blurb underneath, this photo was taken five years ago.”

“And he can’t model anymore?”  Tom wondered how much the guy could have changed in five years.

“It’s a tough industry.  Not everyone gets to be a top model, and it can be over very quickly.  Maybe that’s why this guy wants to be in a more secure job.”

“Are you going to hire him?”  Tom asked as he sat at his own desk and fired up his computer.

“I’m not sure. I’d like to schedule him for an interview.”

“Here or at the office?”  Tom knew that Ben conducted some of his business here at home, on the phone, or at the small office he and Aaron shared in town.

“I conduct my interviews at the office.  You know I don’t like to bring strangers in the house.  Why, are you jealous?”

“Jealous?  No, I was just curious who the guy was.  He’s a pretty good looking guy, you know.”  Tom avoided looking at Ben when he said it.

Ben got up out of his chair, came around behind Tom and wrapped his arms around his man’s chest and hugged him tight.   “You know you’re much better looking then him.”

“Really?”  Tom asked him.

“Oh yeah. I mean who was Mr. May in the ‘Hot Firefighters’ calendar two years ago.  Remember when they had that fund raiser for the fire department that year,  they were selling that calendar at the event?  It sold like hotcakes, and I noticed a lot of women drooling all over May.  How many signatures did you have to sign when they spotted you in the crowd?”

“I think I got writer’s cramp by the end of the day.”

“See! You’re still a hunk.”  Ben kissed his cheek.  “Just remember you’re my hunk.”

“Well, just don’t let Mr. Cheesecake get any ideas.  You belong to me.”  Tom raised Ben’s left hand. The light in the office shone off the gold band on his ring finger.

Ben chuckled.  He looked at the matching band on Tom’s finger too.  The rings were only symbols of their love.  They already belonged to each other a long time before they got married.

“You don’t have anything to worry about, Tom. You know that, right?”

“Hmmm, I don’t know.  I think you better show me.”  Tom got up and took Ben’s hand and led him to their bedroom.

They spent a few minutes undressing each other and fell into bed together.  They made love, knowing all the right buttons to push to bring each other to the top of the mountain and paradise.

Welcome author M.A. Church to my blog today

I'd like to welcome author M.A. Church to my blog today.    Let's find out more about her book "Wrapped in Leather."

"Most welcome, bondage, for thou art a way, I think, to liberty."

- William Shakespeare

Hey everyone! I’m M.A. Church and I’m here to talk about my latest release, Wrapped in Leather. It’s the first in the Wrapped Up series. Wrapped in Leather is about two men exploring a relationship involving their love of leather, BDSM. One of the things Toshi has to answer for himself is: What is a submissive?

A submissive is a person who makes a conscious choice to give up some or all control of their life to another persona Dominant or a Top. Dominance and submission is about a power exchange between two consenting adults. It is about the control within the dynamics of that relationship, whether it be a full time 24/7 relationship, or a casual meeting, or a part time arrangement.
Choosing to be submissive means to allow someone else to control your body and behavior within the preset limits you and that particular person, i.e. the Dominant, have agreed upon. Submission is not a sign of weakness; some of the most successful and strongest people are true submissives.

Submission is not about passiveness, it is not about being a doormatmost submissives are intelligent and well-balanced people just fulfilling their basic desires to submit and to give up control. Submission is not about kinky sex and whips and chainsthough those things can and do play a part in our lifestyle, it is much deeper than just that, and comes from the heart. Submission is a choice, and a wonderful gift to the Dominantit should never be entered into lightly, even in a casual situation at a party or gathering.

Blurb:
To celebrate his decision to take the next step with his boyfriend Ian, Toshi Baylor plans a romantic evening at their favorite steak house. Toshi starts the special weekend with a bang by surprising Ian at home with lunch. There’s a bang all right, but it’s between Ian and another guy.

Jase Taylor’s auto repair shop and the BDSM club, Wrapped Up, keep him busy while he waits for Mr. Right, instead of Mr. Right Now. He’s a Dom, but playing with the club’s submissives isn’t providing the usual stress release. After a day from hell, he deserves a good meal at his favorite steak house.

Toshi and Jase find a mix-up with their reservations: a table for Baylor, not Taylor. When Toshi invites Jase to dine with him, they discover a mutual affection for leather and a shared belief that trust must be earned.

Before they can explore their common interests, Toshi suffers a series of attacks by vandals. Jase’s protective instincts kick in, but both wonder if it can lead to anything permanent.

Excerpt:
Jase placed his hand on Toshi’s arm, halting the smaller man. “Okay, as I was saying… Why not meet me sometime at the gym? You wouldn’t have to work out alone then, and neither would I.”
Toshi stopped hunting his car keys and looked up at Jase. “Really? I’d like that.”
Jase held his helmet under his arm. He really didn’t want Toshi to leave without knowing when he’d see him again or having some way to contact him. That alone surprised him, but he didn’t question the impulse, just went with it.
“Tell you what, let’s exchange numbers and I’ll call you… well, hell.” Jase wasn’t letting Toshi go without knowing something. “Why don’t you meet me tomorrow at three? We can work out.”
Toshi fiddled with his keys. “I, ah, yeah. That sounds good. Three it is. Just go easy on me, man. It’s been two weeks, at least, since I worked out.”
Jase zipped his leather jacket, debating how to answer, then threw caution to the wind. Better to see how Toshi would react now than later. “Going easy isn’t in my vocabulary. That’s not who I am. I push—that’s what I do. But I won’t push you any harder than what you… need.”
Toshi’s mouth opened slightly. “Oh. I, ah… I, oh. Three, right? Yes, I’ll be there.”
There was no mistaking the look of lust that flashed in Toshi’s eyes, and Jase felt himself respond. “Give me your phone.” After Jase programmed his number, he handed the cell back to Toshi. “Dress in street clothes and bring whatever you work out in. After we’re done, we can shower there, then grab something to eat or… whatever. And Toshi, I enjoyed tonight. Very much. Call me if you can’t make it.”
Jase put on his helmet and his leather gloves. He noticed the way Toshi eyed the leather he wore—that was promising—before he flipped the visor down. He looked at Toshi—both of them standing there, staring at each other. He made a point of glancing down at the front of Toshi’s pants, to where a nice bulge showed, before walking away.
Just as he started the bike, he saw Toshi hurry to his car. Jase pulled out and passed in front of Toshi’s car. He stopped, one foot on the road to balance himself. Toshi was just sitting there, doing nothing. Jase’s grin was hidden behind the visor. It looked like he had Toshi’s attention. He lifted his hand, making the motion of starting a vehicle. When Toshi’s car started, he nodded and drove off, very satisfied with what he’d seen so far.
He glanced in his rearview mirror as headlights turned in the opposite direction. He’d bet Toshi was a submissive but had no real training. That need was there, though. He’d seen glimpses of it during dinner and at dessert. It had been a while since he'd played with anyone who wasn’t in the lifestyle, but Toshi showed promise. If he wasn’t very much mistaken, they shared a common interest… leather.

Her hobbies are gardening, walking, attending flea markets, watching professional football, racing, and spending time with her family on the lake.

Later nonhuman and science fiction genres captured her attention and drew her into the worlds the authors had created. But always at the back of her mind was the thought that one day, when the kids were older and she had more time, she would write a book.
By sheer chance she stumbled across a gay male romance story on the web and was hooked. A new world opened up and she fell in love. Thus the journey started. When not writing or researching, she enjoys reading the latest erotic and mainstream romance novels.

New Year's celebration

Happy New Year to you all.

Here is my New Year's story.

Here are this week's prompts:

"In for a penny, in for a pound..." or use cat, string, cottage cheese or "You're not the boss of me." or "Fiddle-dee-dee!" or feature some sort of musical instrument in your story or use puppy eyes or "He gives a new definition to flaming!" or have a New Year's Party or  use sunrise and/or sunset or "Don't get your knickers in a twist..." or use line dancing in some way

New Year's Celebration

“Come on, Love, get in the carrier like a good kitty.” Ben had been trying for the better part of half an hour t to get him to cooperate.

“Great way to spend New Years Eve, huh, Tom?”

Tom had dragged the cat carrier from one room to another, thinking this would be a snap. Love had other ideas.

“Don’t worry about it, Ben. Let’s just get our sick kitty to the vet and we’ll take it from there.”

Love hadn’t been eating and he’d thrown up that morning.  The two men treated the cat like he was their kid. He had his own bed in their room, two cat trees—one in the living room and one in the bedroom.  Best cat food on the market, toys galore, so when their ‘baby’ got sick they immediately called the vet.  He told him to bring him right in, which was turning into a monumental task.

“You keep him occupied, I’ve got an idea.” Tom ran into the kitchen and shook a bag of cat treats.  He’d covered the cat carrier in a towel and put some of the irresistible morsels inside.

“Come here, Love, it’s treat time,” Tom called out in his sing-song voice that was sure to attract Love’s attention.

Love strolled into the kitchen, albeit a bit slowly, sniffed around the carrier, and cautiously went inside for the treats.

“Ah, ha! Gotcha!” Tom quickly closed the door and they got their coats on and took Love to the vet.

It felt like an eternity as they waited for the doc to see them.

“What’s wrong with him, Doc?”

“It looks like he has a stomach virus. I’m giving him an antibiotic. It’s in a liquid form for you to give him twice a day.  I want to see him back here in a week.”

They brought Love home. He curled up in his cat bed and fell asleep.

The phone rang, “Hey, Pete. No, we don’t have any plans.” Tom had picked up the phone.  “That sounds great, but I’ll have to discuss it with Ben. You see we have a sick kitty. Yeah, Love has a stomach virus.  Look, let me get back to you.”

“What is it Tom?”  Ben had given Love some fresh water and his meds.

“Pete called. He and Annie are going to Revere Tavern and wanted us to ring in the New Year with them.  I told them about Love being sick.”

“I don’t think we can unless we can get someone to watch him for us for a few hours.”

“How about Kelly?”  Tom suggested. She was a neighbor who lived down the street. She was a vet tech and worked at the vet office they used.

“Love would be in great hands.”

“Yeah, but I doubt she’d be available on such short notice.”

“Let’s find out.”

Turned out Kelly’s husband was sick and they’d cancelled their plans. She said she could take care of Love for them.

Tom and Ben met Pete and Annie at ten o’clock, and at midnight Tom and Ben shared a New Year’s kiss, drank some champagne, and went straight back to Love.

They’d gone through so much together, but they had each other and Love.
