Welcome author Jane Wakely

I'd like to welcome author Jane Wakely to my blog today.  Let's find out more about her and her book
"Only You."

Questions:
1-How long have you been writing?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been writing and creating stories. Professionally speaking, I’ve been writing and publishing for almost three years.

2- What is your favorite genre to write?
I love writing paranormal romance. I enjoy creating my own worlds, rules and beings—especially shifters!

3-What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on “Book 7,” the last book in my Chestnut Rock Shifters series.

4-When you begin a story do you start with character or plot?
It really depends on the story. Sometimes I get a great idea and build a story around it, sometimes a character “forces” me to build a story around him/her. ;)

5-Tell us about your latest/upcoming release. What inspired it?
My new release, ONLY YOU, is a contemporary romance. My hero and heroine grew up together and he’s her brother’s best friend. I love stories where two people who love each other finally get together. I decided my plus-sized heroine deserved to get her man in a way where she would never question his love or desire.

Title: ONLY YOU
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Blurb:
Jessica has been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember. They grew up together, but he never seems to look at her as anything more than a little sister. Her appearance doesn’t help. She’s short and curvy with a few extra pounds, not the type most men find attractive.

Kyle is in love with Jessica. He’s been in love with her forever, but he’s always kept his distance because she’s his best friend, Robbie’s, sister. Tired of staying away from her, Kyle arrives at Jessica’s door intent on telling her his feelings, but her beauty distracts him and he kisses her instead.

Jessica knows deep down they should stop. Their friendship and her heart could be destroyed, but she’s wanted him for so long. A few seconds is all it takes to change her mind. The following morning, her brother arrives and quickly figures out what happened, and what didn’t. Chaos ensues and lifelong friendships are tested when Robbie defends his sister, Jessica defends Kyle and Kyle tries to declare himself.

Excerpt:
Jessica grabbed a bottle of water and slowly drank it while looking at the mail she’d brought in earlier and left on the kitchen counter.

The pounding on her door startled her, and a giant drop of water sloshed out of the bottle and landed on a grocery store advertisement. She glanced at the clock and put the cap back on the bottle. It was eleven o’clock on a Friday night. No one should be coming to her door. She walked over quietly and looked out the peephole just as the pounding started again.

When she recognized Kyle, panic washed over her and she quickly opened the door.

“Kyle, what’s the matter?” The words rushed out as fear gripped her—had something happened to Robbie?

He looked left and right before stepping into her apartment and closing the door. Jessica had no choice but to step back out of his way.

“What the hell are you doing answering the door dressed like that?” he scolded before looking down the hall toward her bedroom with the light still on. “Are you alone?”

She glanced down and was reminded of her silk cami and matching shorts. She inwardly groaned at her hard nipples pointing through her top. In her haste to open the door and see what was wrong, she didn’t think about what she was wearing. She was braless, and Kyle had a view of more skin and curves than she would have liked. Kyle had seen her in her pajamas many times, but they were usually plaid or matching cotton and covered much more of her curvy body.

Jessica felt vulnerable, but his reprimand and frown pissed her off.

Weds Brief

I am sad to say that Tom, Ben and I were very busy and didn't have time to write up about their latest adventures.   But I hope to be back next week with another peek into their 'private' lives.

In the meantime here is the list of my fellow flashers you should visit and read their flash stories.

Weds Brief

It's that time of the week again,  and this week the guys are being their usual romantic selves.   Check out what they are up to.

I used one of these prompts:

The game is afoot!" or "Feet don't fail me now" or a feat of strength or alligator, clip, residue or use a storm in some way or "You are the wind beneath my wings" or "Come sail away" or "Please pass the ..." or find a creative use for mayonnaise or make a My Favorite Martian reference.

There were just some things in life that you couldn’t prepare for, no matter how much you tried.  Tom and Ben had each other to face whatever came their way.   With all the stresses in their lives, they always took time to get away from it all from time to time.

They set aside days where they took each other out on a date. They took turns picking a day and made plans.   This time around was Tom’s day.   Ben loved it when his man took charge and today he was thrilled when Tom surprised him with a picnic lunch in one of their favorite parks.

“Don’t forget to bring your binoculars, I know how much you love to bird watch,”  Tom reminded him as they packed the car.

“Oh, don’t worry, honey, I won’t.”   Ben was touched that Tom thought of everything.  Ben had gotten teased by men he’d dated in the past when he admitted that bird watching was a passion of his.   So he’d kept that tidbit a secret from Tom until their relationship had gotten very serious.   He remembered how nervous he was to tell him about his interest.

“What’s wrong, Ben?  You’re awful quiet.”  Tom had asked him on their date.  Ben remembered how his heart was beating so hard it almost broke out of his chest.

“Tom I have a confession to make.”  Ben looked up at Tom and saw the expression on his face.

“You do? Okay, don’t mince words; just give it to me straight. You’re breaking up with me, right?”  Tom obviously had misread Ben’s intentions.

“What? No, of course not.  I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to go bird watching with me.  See, I wanted you to know that I love bird watching.  Not all guys are into it and I felt you needed to know that about me.  Before we got any further in our relationship.” There, the Band-Aid had been ripped off; now the ball was in Tom’s court.   What Ben didn’t expect was those strong firefighter arms to wrap around his and held him tight.

“Is that all? Oh geesh, you scared the shit out of me.”

“It doesn’t bother you?”

“Bother me? Why should it bother me?  I happen to like nature too, and I’d love to go with you.  You can show me all the birds of Pennsylvania.”

“Oh Tom, I love you!”   It was the first time either of them had ever said it.   Ben knew that this man was a keeper.  And he proved it right from that time on.

They’d enjoyed a hike in the national park, then a picnic lunch.  They decided to go back into town and visit their favorite ice cream shop, Splits and Giggles, for some dessert.

Tom had an ice cream soda and Ben had a hot fudge sundae.  Ben fed Tom some of his chocolate ice cream; he made sure the spoon was also loaded with hot fudge sauce.   Tom’s face lit up at all the ooey gooey goodness.

“So what are we going to do next, honey?”  Ben had been so happy with Tom’s plans so far.

“How about we take in a movie?  I’m anxiously awaiting Despicable Me.”  After Ben had admitted to bird watching, Tom made a confession of his own.  He liked animated movies.  Some adults felt they had to drag a kid to see one, but Tom went on his own if he couldn’t find anyone to go with him, that was until he met Ben. Ben loved to see them too.  “Too bad it won’t be out until July 3rd.”

“Well, we know what we’ll be doing July 3rd. at least, whenever we have off that falls around that date,”  Ben stated.

“Love you honey.”   Tom took his hand and they took a stroll down toward the theater.  They decided to watch the Star Trek movie again; they’d already seen it a few times.  The sun had set by the time they came out and, as they were walking back toward the car, the sky opened up.  Rain descended in buckets and Tom and Ben made a run for it. Their car was parked down the street.  Ben could see it in the distance and wasn’t sure if they should try for it.  Tom pulled him into a storefront with an overhang.

“I’m soaked.” Tom said as they took refuge under the store’s awning.

“Me too.” Ben wrapped his arms around Tom and laid his head on his man’s wet T-shirt.  They stood there, listening to the rain coming down.   “Oh look, Tom.” Ben pointed at the front window display.  They’d found shelter at the travel agent.   There were posters from all over the world.

“If we could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?” Ben asked him.

There were posters for Hawaii, Fiji, Russia, Australia and even an Alaskan cruise.

“All those places look wonderful, honey.  And sure I’d love to go anywhere in the world with you, but do you know my favorite place to spend time with you?”

“Where?”  Ben looked up at his man’s gorgeous eyes.

“Right here, right now.”  Tom’s lips covered his and Ben forgot all about the rain or how drenched they both were.  A loud thunderclap and lightning, which lit up the sky, didn’t interrupt them.

“Wow, I heard of love setting off fireworks, but we surpassed that with our own thunder and lightning show.”

“You got it baby.” They stood in the vestibule and waited for the rain to stop.  They finally were able to make their way to the car and back home.  They ended their date with some major lovemaking.

Weds Brief

Hey everyone,  it's that time of the week again.  Time to flash.   This week I'm using a prompt from this list
You can't always get what you want..." or use a birthday cake or have a scene in a fast food restaurant or use: goat, hanger, whisper or "I thought that you loved me until you said..." or "I spy with my little eye..." or use socks in a fun way or introduce a new character who is a model

see if you can figure out what I did.

Most people weren’t crazy about doing household chores.  Tom and Ben traded off doing laundry and cleaning and shopping every week so neither felt like it was the same old same old.

Ben stood on his side of their king-size bed; Tom was lying on top of the cover, fast asleep.  The poor guy had just come from a grueling overnight shift.  There was a five-alarm fire at a warehouse and it took the firefighters several hours to put it out.    Tom was barely able to make it to the bedroom before he collapsed onto the bed.

Ben had made them chicken salad sandwiches for lunch, but they’d have to wait until his husband rested.    Ben took in the sight of his man. He didn’t want to burden Tom with this thought, but he was relieved when Tom came through that front door safe and sound every day.    He tried very hard to keep any worry from his mind, but it was hard sometimes.   But such was the life of living with someone like a firefighter.  Ben wouldn’t change things for the world.   He loved Tom with all his heart and he was so happy they were married and had a life together.

Ben looked over at his man, who was dressed in a pair of shorts and a dark green T-shirt.   He looked so sexy Ben wanted to jump his bones, but instead he was folding clothes.  He had all the shirts, pants, and underwear all put away; all that was left in the basket was their socks.  He hated sorting socks—Tom usually did it or they did it together.    But Tom was snoozing and it gave him something to do while he waited for his man to wake up.

He admitted to having trouble figuring out if the sock he held in his hand was black or navy blue.   Tom had slightly bigger feet than he did, so it made it easier to figure out whose was whose, but there had to be some ‘land of lost socks’ cause the rare time he folded socks he always had mismatches.   Something happened from the time he’d put a complete set of socks into the washing machine and then into the dryer.   Maybe some sock fairies or gremlins came and whisked the socks away.   Ben chuckled at the image in his head.

“Mmmffff, snort.”  Tom made some muffled noises and rolled over onto this stomach.  Ben took a look at the sock ball he had in his hand and back at Tom.   ‘No, I shouldn’.

It was too tempting.  Whack!

“Wha—what?”  Tom got a rude awakening from a sock ball to the face.  “What the hell?  Ben, I was sleeping!”

“What do you mean?”  Ben acted all innocent.

“I mean what is this?”   Tom held up a white sock ball as evidence.

“Oh, that.”

“Yeah, that.  Do you have an explanation?”

“I’m taking the fifth.”  Ben strutted away from the bed only to have his wrist grabbed and himself pulled onto the bed.

“I have enough evidence to punish you.  You know there are laws of the bedroom that you have woefully violated.”

“Oh ,really? And what laws are those?”   Ben asked. It was getting hotter in here by the minute.

“Laws forbidding husbands from waking their spouses while they are asleep.  And the punishment for that is…”  Tom pulled Ben across his lap and pulled Ben’s shorts and boxers off and began spanking him.

“Ow! What do you think you’re doing?”  Ben feigned anger.  In truth he liked being spanked, and Tom knew that only too well.     He felt the heat register on his butt cheeks.

“Punishing you.  I’m going to enjoy doing it.”   Tom took the rest of Ben’s clothes off and pushed him onto his back on the bed.  He covered him with his clothed body.   Benenduredthe ‘punishment’ of having his lips kissed hard, his nipples sucked on until they were hard as a rock, his belly button licked, and his cock sucked on like it was a popsicle.  The real ‘torture’ came when Tom’s fingers entered his ass and then Tom’s large cock followed.

“Oh Tom, TOM!”   Ben endured this sweet torture until his cock shot come all over the comforter and Tom filled him.

Ben was enveloped in Tom’s arms; they covered each other in sweet kisses.

“Looks like we’ll have to do another wash.”   Ben looked at the come-covered comforter.

“Yeah, but this time I’ll do the socks.”

Ben laughed and Tom followed suit.  The wash could wait; right now, they fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Welcome author M.A. Church

I'd like to welcome, once again,  M.A. Church to my blog today.   Let's find out about her book "The Yellow Rope."

The Yellow Rope

Okay, lol, so I did a few of my own interview questions that focused more on me as a person than me as a writer. Hope ya enjoy!

~When do you do your best writing… morning, afternoon, evening, night?
Well, I’m probably the freshest in the mornings, but I write at all times of the day. If the hubby is working nights, then I’m working. If he’s on days, then I’m writing during the day. What it comes down to is this: when he’s off and awake, lol, I’m not writing. That’s our time together. It’s what we’ve found that works for us… to keep our marriage intact. Otherwise, I’d be on the computer while he’s in another room watching TV.

~ Who’s your favorite horror villain and why?
Huh. Don’t know if Riddick falls in that category or nor, but he’s my favorite. Why? Well good God, just look at the man, lol. ;) And that voice! Maybe it’s that dark edge to his voice that gets me, lol. Aw hell, and that body.
I’m not really a horror fan, to be honest. They tend to give me nightmares. I scare easily enough without purposely watching something I *know* is going to freak me out, lol.

~If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive who would it be and why?
Oh wow, many people come to mind. I’m hoping I get to have time with some of my fellow writers at GRL this year. There are some fans, too, I’d like to meet. Then there are a couple of reviewers I’d like to be able to put a face to. *laugh* I mean that in a nice way!
But who would I *really* like to have dinner with? As sappy as this is going to sound… my Mom. She passed away three years ago. I’d love to be able to sit down and have a chance to catch her up on things she’s missed with me and the kids.

~If you could pick one band to play the background music to a love scene in your book, whom would you choose and what song would they play?
Chicago – Hard habit to break. It’s a sad song, but I love it. There’s so much truth in that song.

~What do you do to relax?
*snort* Relax? What’s that???
Okay seriously, I like to sit on the back porch and enjoy the great outdoors. We live by a pond and there’s wildlife here… ducks, geese, rabbits, squirrels and so on. Even if it’s for ten minutes, I feel refreshed. And some of my best idea’s come while I’m sitting out there looking at the water, lol.

Blurb:
A cranky submissive...
Luke Walker is tired. He spends long hours between his job as a teacher assistant at an elementary school and helping out his family at their restaurant. Coupled with the fact that his degree is going to waste, he’s discouraged and fatigued by too much work and endless southern heat, and not enough time spent with his live-in partner.
An understanding Dom...
Gage Holt has been on both sides of the fence. He believes that in order to be a good Dom, one has to understand being a sub. Unfortunately, he’s had some bad experiences in pursuit of that knowledge, and suffered a great deal. But that’s in the past now.
A long weekend...
Three little days... Gage is determined to see that his man gets what he needs in every way he can give it to him. Anything to remove the dark circles from beneath his beautiful eyes. For the next seventy-two hours, he’s going to pamper his boy—in his way. He’ll fight a bull that hates him, battle with a crusty old woman at a gift shop who snubs him, and deal with the never-ending lack of money just to bring the shine back to Luke’s eyes.
Luke will relax and have some fun, even if Gage has to tie him to whatever flat surface happens to be handy.

Release date: June 1st

Excerpt:
“I’m going to untie you for a little while so your wrists don’t bruise.”
“Really?” Luke asked, surprised.
“Yes, really…”
“I hear a but in there.”
“Indeed you do. Touch your cock without permission and I’ll tie you to the bed and really warm that ass up.” Gage’s lips twitched. Luke knew him all too well. “I want you to go take a shower and clean up. I’ll be checking, too, so behave.”
“You’re not going to join me?”
“No, I have something to do downstairs.”
“Damn.” Luke moaned into a pillow.
Gage slapped his ass again. “No complaining out of you, either.”
“I’m not complaining!” Luke’s smothered laugh had Gage grinning. “Just wondering if I’m going to be able to sit down tomorrow.”
“Possibly.” Gage untied Luke and helped him up. “But I wouldn’t bet on anything at this point, I’ve been too long without you. Now, go shower, babe. The longer you keep me waiting…”
“I’m going, I’m going.” Luke’s cheeky grin followed him out of the room.
* * * *
Once Luke was behind closed doors, Gage went to the guest bath, wet a washcloth, and cleaned his body. Hurrying back to their bedroom, he checked on Luke. Seeing Luke bite his lip while his hands moved quickly and efficiently over his body, he returned to the bedroom and hunted up a pair of boxers. A quick trip downstairs to check on things and he was ready for the next adventure. Gage was back upstairs when Luke came out of the shower.
Gage followed Luke back down. While Gage warmed up the spaghetti, Luke fixed the garlic bread and salads. Gage was happy to see Luke looking more relaxed. Gage fixed both of them a plate.
“Kitchen or den?”
Luke picked up his plate, a big grin spreading over his face. “Do you really have to ask?”
“Den, it is.” For some reason, Luke hated sitting at the kitchen table to eat. There were times he wondered if Luke’s mom had made Luke sit at the table until he’d finished his vegetables. God knows, the man didn’t like anything green…outside of salad. That was just one of his odd little quirks Gage had to get used to. Gage sat next to Luke on the couch. Luke curled his legs under him and snagged the remote, turning on the TV.
Luke let out a lusty moan. “I swear, you make the best spaghetti I’ve ever tasted.”
“That’s love talking,” Gage snickered while Luke flipped through the channels.
Luke found a reality show he liked and set the remote down, smirking. “Ah, I don’t think so. Remember the fried chicken deal? The outside was burnt to a crisp and the inside was raw. So it isn’t my love for you that makes me say this is good.”
Gage scowled at Luke. Stupid chicken was going to haunt him for the rest of his life it looked like. “You’re never gonna forget that damn chicken, are you?”
“Nope.” Luke bit into his garlic bread and winked at Gage.

M.A. Church
M.A. Church lives in the southern United States and spent many years in the elementary education sector. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two children. Her hobbies are gardening, walking, attending flea markets, watching professional football, racing, and spending time with her family on the lake.

Later nonhuman and science fiction genres captured her attention and drew her into the worlds the authors had created. But always at the back of her mind was the thought that one day, when the kids were older and she had more time, she would write a book.
By sheer chance she stumbled across a gay male romance story on the web and was hooked. A new world opened up and she fell in love. Thus the journey started. When not writing or researching, she enjoys reading the latest erotic and mainstream romance novels.
