Six Sentence Sunday the last one

It's kind of sad when something worthwhile comes to an end.  So it goes with Six Sentence Sunday.   This is the last one.   I want to thank all those who work so hard on the site to give us authors a way to showcase our books.

Sam nervously took a sip from the wine glass.

"Why don't you look at the menu?" Matt handed him the menu that had been lying next to him on the table. He noticed Sam's hand was shaking.

"You okay?" Matt asked him.

"Sorry, I'm just nervous. I haven't been on a date in a long time." He took another sip of wine.

Six Sentence Sunday

I thought I'd let you know that the Six Sentence Sunday is coming to an end next Sun Jan 27th,  the people who run the site have decided to end it.

That doesn't mean I won't continue to give my readers peeks at my work.

In the meantime here is my six for this week.

Here are six from my book "Somebody to Love."       Sam is a florist, he goes into the local bar and meets Matt, the new bartender.    They strike up a conversation, over, what else, baseball,  and things go from there.   Sam already got burned in another relationship and is cautious about getting into another relationship

“I’ll catch you another time.” Matt said hopefully.

“I’ll be back,” He leaned in close to Matt, “Count on it.”

“Night, Sam.”  Sam felt Matt’s eyes on him as he left.

Sam left the bar feeling better than when he’d come in.  He wasn’t sure if this was going to turn into something, but he wasn’t going to close the door on that possibility.

Six Sentence Sunday

HI Everyone,

I wanted to do my six from my book "Love on the East End."

http://www.romancefirstpublishing.blogspot.com/search/label/Lily%20Sawyer?zx=8b337e7905808f77

My six is from a scene where Gabriel and William are at a wine tasting event that Gabriel is hosting at his restaurant.   Gabriel thinks William has a partner and wonders why he didn't bring him to the event, only to hear William say the man has a wife.

my six:

"Yeah, sorry, I just assumed he was. I'm just making a mess of things aren't I?
I mean I don't even know if you're. He stopped, unsure if he should make this
giant leap. It was almost too much to hope for.

"Gay?" William's gaze met his again and a wide smile broke out on his handsome
features.

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello all,

I thought I'd do this week's six on one of my earlier books "Somebody to Love."  I am originally from Long Island and I wanted to set this one near where I grew up.

After a terrible break up Sam is having problems opening up to the possibility of a new relationship.  He meets Matt who wants to get to know him, but will Sam allow Matt into his life.

Here are my six

“Hey, there. I got your message. You know you’re not a bother to me, Sam.”  Just the sound of Matt’s deep voice made Sam’s insides melt.

“I just didn’t know if you wanted to go out again.”

“Sure I do. I told you that at dinner. You’re not changing your mind are you?” Matt asked him.

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello All,

I can't believe we're about to close out another year.  It's been an interesting one for me.   I hope it's been a good year for all of you.  I am hoping to have more books out in the new year.  I currently have two that I am working on.

In the meantime I thought I'd share six sentences from my book "Love on the East End."

Happy New Year to you all

-->
“You…” William took a moment to catch his breath.  “You want to go into the house?”  He kissed Gabriel. “I’ve got a king-size bed, nice, comfy and…” Gabriel silenced him with a finger to his lips.

“Shut up and take me to your bed.”  They kissed and rushed up the wooden steps to the front door.

Six Sentence Sunday

HI Everyone,

I thought I'd post an excerpt from the book that started it all for me.   "The Finest Thing"

From now until Dec 25th  Dreamspinner press is offering 25% off on my book.  (it's a holiday sale)

Here are my six sentences  (Aidan and Paul meet at a friends wedding.  It is the right after gay marriage is legalized in Connecticut.  They hit it off and these six sentences is right after they get intimate)

"Yeah," Aidan said, smiling at the other man, "that was great."

Paul rested his head under Aidan's chin, feeling him place a kiss on the top of his head. He sighed as he felt himself slowly falling asleep. Aidan lay a few more minutes, looking at the sleeping man in his arms. It had been too long since he'd been intimate with anyone.  He wondered for a moment what this all meant, but found that he couldn't keep his eyes open as he fell asleep too.

This story deals with depression.    Harry decides to reveal to Nicholas about it.   Here is a brief conversation.

What do I have to lose by laying it all out on the table?
"Unless what?"
"You suffer from the same thing as I have."
"The same thing as you have?" Nicholas reached out and gently took Harry's hand and squeezed it.
"Baby, are you sick?"

Six Sentence Sunday

In honor of my new book release I am doing my Six Sentences from my book
"From the Depths"

Harry has a low self-esteem problem, a problem many people with depression have.   Here is six (I have so much problems picking just six sentences to share)

He still had some time before his date with Nicholas.
"Wait a minute, did I just call this a date?" he said aloud. He looked at himself in the mirror on his closet door. "This is not a date," he said to himself. "It's just coffee."
That was all it could be.

Here is the synopsis
To the rest of the world Harry Goldberg appears to be a normal, happy go lucky man.  He has a great job working at Nosh Deli on Long Island, his co-workers and customers love him.   But Harry has a secret, he suffers from depression,  no one understands what it is like to live life on the edge most of the time and not to be able to let anyone know for fear of driving them away.  That is how Harry has led his life,  alone except for his faithful cat.   But things change when a new delivery man shows up at the deli, one that he finds himself attracted to.  But there is no one who can love someone who has so much emotional baggage like him,  or is there?

my six. It was SO hard to narrow this down to six.  I'll be posting more sneak peeks during the week.

This is a scene from a coffee shop Harry meets Nicholas, the delivery man, at.

-->
"I wasn't sure if you liked them but I took a chance and bought us both their healthy wraps. They both have grilled chicken, lite Italian dressing, tomatoes, onion, and mushrooms."
Harry stared at the wrapped sandwich sitting on the small table in front of him.
"Hey, if you don't like it, you can exchange it for something else."
Harry felt Nicholas's hand touch his own; the warm touch broke him from his shocked stupor. It had been ages since anyone did something nice like this for him.

He stood at the open doorway, staring at the handsome creature. His eyes feasted on the dark hair, blue eyes and muscular chest. He couldn't help looking at the tail that hung over the side, resting partially on the bathroom floor.

Jaran's eyes fixed on his and Kellan stared down at the floor. His cheeks got all warm with embarrassment.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to stare, not polite," Kellan whispered as he turned to leave.

Six Sentence Sunday

I decided to do my six sentences for my book, my very first published book, "The Finest Thing."

Aidan goes back home to Connecticut for his friend's wedding.  It will be the first time he'd ever been to a gay wedding (it wasn't long after CT legalized gay marriages)   He meets someone at the wedding, it's awkward at first.  This is a scene that takes place after the wedding when the two men are going back to their separate rooms (which just happen to be next door to each other)

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then," Aidan said, opening up his door.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Paul agreed as he looked for his key.

"Paul?" Aidan asked nervously.

"Yes?"

"You want to come in for a nightcap?" Aidan asked hopefully.

Six Sentence Sunday

It should be no secret by now that "Catch of the Day" is one of my fave stories I've written.  That is not to say that all of my stories don't have a place in my heart.    But I just love the ocean and enjoyed bringing my merman, Jaran, to life.    I am thinking of doing a sequel but have been so busy with RL and finishing a story I am going to submit to Silver Publishing (the publisher of "Catch of the Day.")  that there hasn't been much time.

I'm also thinking of turning my Weds Brief (Tom and Ben's story) into a full length story.

in the meantime here is my Six Sentence Sunday from "Catch of the Day."

Kellan couldn't help looking down at Jaran's torso. He had nice calves and powerful thighs that disappeared into a pair of shorts that showed off his nice package.
"Like what you see?"
Kellan quickly looked away so Jaran wouldn't know he'd been ogling him. "Come on let's go inside. " He turned around to leave the hold.

Six Sentence Sunday

I thought I'd do six sentences from my story Bigger Briefs:  Reluctant Romance

Chester had had enough of Dr. Waters. The nerve of that man, making a pass at him.  It didn’t matter how handsome the blond was, he wasn’t interested in him or any other man.  After he’d gotten out of that rotten relationship with Derrick, he’d sworn off men.

He was a party of one and he was going to stay that way.

He was going to be professional and tell him that too, the next time he saw him.

Blurb:

Six Sentences:

.” Matt got up, shut off the TV and offered Sam his hand and led them to the bedroom.

Matt started to undress and as Sam watched him pull his shirt off, exposing a very well defined chest.  “Boy you must work out.” He felt himself harden. When Matt reached for the zipper of his pants, Sam stopped him. “Let me.”

Six Sentence Sunday

I'm doing my six sentences from one of my favorite books that I've written "Catch of the Day."

He searched among the kelp and coral and looked around the caves.  Suddenly he was grabbed from behind and dragged into the cave and a pair of lips crushed his.
Jaran returned the kiss; he was pushed up against the entrance and felt Kellan pressing their bodies together. Jaran reluctantly pulled away, indicating he needed to get some air.   Kellan gave him the thumbs up and signaled he’d follow him up.
Jaran reached the surface and waited for Kellan.
